A: Not necessarily! You can start selling on platforms like Gumroad, Etsy, or even social media. But having your own website gives you more control, better branding, and long-term growth potential. It’s a great next step as you grow.

Q: Which platform should I use to sell digital products?

A: There are several great platforms to choose from depending on your goals, tech comfort, and how hands-on you want to be. Here are a few options:

  • Stan Store – A favorite for creators and coaches who want a simple, all-in-one storefront (great for selling directly through social media like TikTok or Instagram).

  • Shopify – Ideal if you want to build a fully branded website/store with more control and customization.

  • Gumroad – Beginner-friendly, fast to set up, and perfect for digital product sellers.

  • Payhip – A great alternative to Gumroad with similar features and zero monthly fees.

✨ The best platform is the one that aligns with your vision, feels easy to use, and allows you to start now without tech stress.

Q: How do I create high-quality digital products?

A: It starts with solving a real problem or providing genuine value. Before creating, take time to research what your audience needs, plan your content with intention, and keep the end-user in mind.

One of the easiest tools to use for creating beautiful digital products is Canva—and you don’t need to be a designer to make professional-looking resources!

Here’s how Canva helps:

  • The free version gives you access to thousands of templates, fonts, icons, and design tools—perfect for creating eBooks, planners, checklists, and more.

  • The Pro version unlocks premium templates, brand kits (for consistent colors/fonts), magic resize, background remover, and more customization tools.

✨ Whether you’re using Canva Free or Canva Pro, it’s a powerful and beginner-friendly way to design stunning products that are clean, useful, and easy to sell.

Q: Do I need technical skills to create or sell digital products?

A: Not at all! There are tons of beginner-friendly tools that make it easy. And if there’s something you don’t want to do (like designing), you can outsource it or use done-for-you templates.

Q: How long does it take to launch a digital product business?

A: It depends on your schedule, focus, and product path. Some people set up in a weekend using ready-made products, while others take a few weeks to build out their brand. The key is consistency and taking one step at a time.

Q: What are the best ways to market my digital products?

A: This is where the term digital marketing comes in—and it’s a buzzword for a reason.

Digital marketing simply means using online tools and platforms to reach people, build an audience, and promote your products. It’s how entrepreneurs—big and small—get visibility, build trust, and drive sales online.

For beginners, digital marketing might sound intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! It’s all about choosing 1–2 methods that feel fun, doable, and aligned with your strengths.

Beginner-Friendly Ways to Start Marketing Your Digital Products:

  • Social Media – Share short-form videos, reels, stories, or carousel posts on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.

  • Content Marketing – Create valuable blog posts, Pinterest pins, or YouTube videos that educate and attract your ideal audience.

  • Email Marketing – Build a list of people who want what you’re offering, and send them updates, offers, and helpful tips.

  • Affiliate Collaborations – Let others promote your product in exchange for a small commission—this is great for growth.

  • Paid Ads – As you grow, you can experiment with Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest ads to reach more people fast.

✨ Remember: the best strategy is the one you’ll stick to consistently.
Start small, learn as you go, and build your momentum.

Q: How do I build trust with my audience?

A: Be real, consistent, and generous. Share value often, deliver on your promises, and let people get to know you behind the brand. Social proof like reviews, testimonials, and before/after stories go a long way.

🌸 Real Concerns, Real Answers

Let’s talk about the fears we don’t always say out loud.
If you’ve ever thought “this probably isn’t for me…” you’re not alone.
Here are some of the most common worries—and the truth behind them.

Q: What if I don’t have enough time?

A: You don’t need hours a day—you just need small pockets of focused time.
With done-for-you digital products, so much of the hard work is already done. You can build at your own pace, even if it’s just an hour a few days a week.

“I started building this during nights and weekends while running the office for my husband’s business full-time.”

Q: I’ve never done anything like this before… can I really learn?

A: Absolutely. You don’t need tech skills, a business background, or a big social following.
Everything is beginner-friendly, step-by-step, and designed to make it simple.

“I had no experience either—but I followed my curiosity, trusted the process, and grew confidence with every step.”

Q: Am I too old to start something new?

A: Not even close. And if your in the realm of midlife, like me, is actually the perfect time. You have wisdom, purpose, and a deeper “why.” That’s powerful.

“I started learning this at 45—in the middle of perimenopause, working full-time, and grieving an empty nest. That season is exactly what pushed me to create something for me.”

Q: What if I’ve already tried and failed at things before?

A: That doesn’t mean you’re not capable. It just means you didn’t have the right support or model before.
This isn’t about pushing products—it’s about adding value, building real freedom, and doing it your way.

“I’ve tried all kinds of things in the past—MLMs, side hustles, dabbling in digital stuff… but nothing really clicked until this. It felt aligned. It felt possible.”

Q: What if I feel stuck, unsure, or not confident?

A: That’s okay. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to start. Confidence builds with each step you take—and that’s what we’re here for.

“Some days I still doubt myself. But the version of me who started… would be so proud I didn’t give up.”

Q: What if my mindset is the thing holding me back?

A: You’re not alone. Most women don’t struggle with how to build an online business—they struggle with believing they can.
That’s why mindset work is such a big part of what we talk about here.

“I realized early on that if I didn’t change how I saw myself… nothing else would change either. That’s why personal development and self-image work have been such a huge part of my journey.”

And here’s the best part:
Many of the digital products you’ll find inside DRI actually focus on mindset, self-growth, and personal empowerment.
You can use them for yourself and sell them to help other women grow too. 🌱

🎙️ Behind the Brand: Mara’s Real Talk

The honest answers to questions you’d probably ask me over coffee.

Q: How did you get started with digital products?

A: I started in one of the hardest seasons of my life—my mid-40s. I was grieving my daughters leaving the nest, navigating perimenopause, and running the office full-time for my husband’s business.

I didn’t have much time, energy, or clarity… but I knew I wanted something of my own. Something that felt meaningful, allowed time and location freedom, and gave me options for the future.

So I started researching online—just trying to figure out what was even possible. I didn’t know what I was looking for exactly, but I did know what I didn’t want:
❌ I didn’t want to push products I didn’t believe in
❌ I didn’t want to cold-message people like I’d done in past MLMs
❌ And I didn’t want to feel salesy or fake

Then I came across women learning digital marketing—and I realized how huge this world was.
There were people building income streams from home, in their own time, selling digital products online. That’s when I discovered MRR and PLR—digital products that you can resell or customize as your own and keep 100% of the profit.

I was so intrigued. But I’ll be honest—it was overwhelming at first. I bought several courses, tried to piece it all together, and quickly realized:
👉 You don’t need to spend thousands
👉 You do need the right support

Things finally started to click when I found a mentorship that simplified the process and made me feel supported. That’s when it all started to shift.

Q: How did you learn all of this?

A: Honestly? By being curious and willing to figure it out as I went.
There were plenty of ups and downs in my business journey—and looking back, that was exactly what I needed. I was already in a major life transition, and this path forced me to dig deep, shift my mindset, and get out of my own way.
It’s become one of the most transformational things I’ve done for my confidence and self-belief.

I invested in multiple courses—some helpful, some overwhelming—but the real shift happened when I found the right mentorship program that simplified everything and gave me real support. (Shout out to Brit + Ness!)

But it wasn’t instant. I took messy action, made mistakes, and had to learn how to “fail forward.”
There were moments I genuinely wanted to quit—and to be honest, I did step back for a few months at one point.
But the ideas and possibilities wouldn’t stop calling me. I realized that if I walked away, I’d regret it.

At first, I had that “all or nothing” mindset—I wanted everything to click overnight. I thought I had to have it all figured out from day one.
But what really worked?
👉 Taking small, intentional steps
👉 Having a clear plan
👉 Celebrating the little wins

Every time I moved forward—even just a little—it built my confidence and reminded me: I can do this.

Q: Did you ever want to give up?

A: So many times.
There were moments when I felt completely discouraged—like maybe this wasn’t going to work for me. I’d second-guess myself, compare my progress to others, and wonder if I was just wasting my time.

But what kept me going was the belief that I was meant for more.
I wasn’t ready to settle for just going through the motions of life.

My early 40s were honestly one of the hardest stages of my life.
My daughters left the nest, and suddenly I went from being a full-time stay-at-home mom—my identity for over two decades—to asking, Who am I now? What do I even want?

That grief, confusion, and in-between season cracked something open in me.
This wasn’t just about making money online or trying something new.
This was about finding a new purpose, something of my own—something that would give me both fulfillment and flexibility.

I craved the feeling of building something that was mine.
Something I could point to and say:
“I did that. Every small win, every skill I’m learning—I created this.”

And that’s what kept pulling me forward, even when things felt hard.

Q: What if I don’t have support from my family or friends?

A: I totally get it. I’ve felt that too.
To be honest… I don’t even share this journey with most of my closest friends.
Sometimes, the people we love most just don’t share the same passions, goals, or that deep, soul-level pull of:
“I feel like I’m meant for more than what I’m currently doing.”

And when someone doesn’t feel that themselves, they’ll never fully understand your drive to build something of your own.

Truthfully? The digital world is something many people in my life just don’t get.
They don’t see the possibilities, the scale, or the growth potential in this industry—so I stopped trying to explain it.
Instead, I kept my head down, stayed in my lane, and reminded myself:

“If she can do it… why not me? Why can’t I claim a small piece of this $800 billion+ industry too?”

In the beginning, your dream is fragile.
You’re building belief. You’re nurturing something brand new. And it takes real mindset work just to keep showing up.

That’s why I kept my goals close to my heart.
I didn’t even tell my husband at first.
(I’m not necessarily recommending that, by the way 😅)
But I knew that if someone—even unintentionally—said, “What makes you think you can do that?” it could crush a dream I hadn’t fully built belief in yet.

Not everyone will understand this path. And that’s okay. They don’t have to.

This is your dream.
And sometimes… you have to believe in it before anyone else will.

That’s why I’m so passionate about building a community where women feel supported, encouraged, and seen.
You don’t have to do this alone anymore.
